Navy's Indigenization Triumph: Androth Joins Fleet

The Indian Navy has commissioned 'Androth,' an Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft, enhancing its coastal defense capabilities. Presided over by Vice Admiral Rajesh Pendharkar, the vessel is a significant indigenization milestone with over 80% locally sourced components, showcasing India's shipbuilding prowess.

The Indian Navy has strengthened its coastal defense capabilities with the commissioning of 'Androth,' an Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft. The ceremonial event took place at the Naval Dockyard and was presided over by Vice Admiral Rajesh Pendharkar, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Eastern Naval Command.

According to the Navy, Androth's induction will enhance its Anti-Submarine Warfare capabilities, crucial for operations in coastal and shallow waters. The event was attended by senior naval officers and shipyard representatives, highlighting the strategic importance of this addition to India's naval fleet.

Built indigenously by a Kolkata-based company, Androth represents a significant achievement in the Navy's indigenization efforts.
