Despite adverse weather and landslides disrupting traffic in Darjeeling and Kalimpong, tourists are arriving in droves, tour operators reported on Monday.
Data from the West Bengal Tourism Development Corporation (WBTDC) shows minimal room cancellations, except in landslide-affected areas. Yet, Dooars sees higher cancellations amid floods.
The government provides special bus services for stranded tourists, while trekking groups still head to Sandakphu. Traffic via Darjeeling's NH-55 to Siliguri reopens, as weather forecasts predict light rain in the coming days.
