The bustling city of Manpada has gained an additional green lung with the inauguration of the Rajmata Jijau Udyan, commonly known as Oxygen Park. The new 3.5-acre space aims to provide both recreational and educational benefits to the public, enriching the area's natural landscape.
This green sanctuary features over 15,000 plants, representing more than 100 medicinal and rare species, making it a veritable outdoor classroom. Students and visitors can explore plant life, sustainability, and wellness through interactive learning tools, including QR-coded information boards.
Adding to its educational value are sculptures of Ayurvedic legends like Dhanvantari, Acharya Charak, and Acharya Sushruta. The park also features a 500-meter walking trail, an artificial lake, and bird-friendly lighting. Deputy CM Eknath Shinde hopes these initiatives will instill environmental responsibility in younger generations.
