Singer India has announced plans to start local manufacturing of Auto Zig Zag sewing machines. This initiative comes in the wake of a licensing agreement with Singer Sourcing Ltd LLC, which allows the production and outsourcing of select Auto Zig Zag models specifically for the Indian market.

Singer India's Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Rakesh Khanna, expressed optimism about the deal, noting it would permit the company to produce high-quality machines tailored to Indian consumer needs. This agreement is expected to help Singer India achieve cost competitiveness comparable to global standards, with potential avenues for international export through SVP Worldwide.

The sewing machines will adhere to the mandatory BIS certification, emphasizing a commitment to quality and safety standards as guided by the Indian government.
