The International Uveitis Study Group (IUSG) has recognized the exceptional work of Professor Vishali Gupta by awarding her its coveted gold medal. This prestigious accolade, bestowed every four years, honors excellence in ocular inflammation research.
Professor Gupta, affiliated with the Advanced Eye Centre at PGIMER, is the first clinician-scientist based in India to receive this honor, a testament to her impactful contributions in the field of uveitis.
Expressing her gratitude, Gupta acknowledged her mentor, Professor Amod Gupta, and the foundational support provided by PGIMER Chandigarh, which she credits for her academic achievements. The award ceremony will take place at the IUSG meeting in Tubingen, Germany, in July 2026.
