In a recent ceremony in Lucknow, Ohiwot Laloo, a distinguished senior school teacher and youth influencer from Meghalaya, has been awarded the prestigious Silver Star Award by the Bharat Scouts and Guides (BSG), officials announced.
This recognition marks Laloo as the first from the male section in West Jaintia Hills to achieve such an honor for his 'special, distinguished, and continuous dedicated service to the scout/guide movement'.
With a legacy in scouting since 1979, Laloo is celebrated for his roles as a teacher, scoutmaster, and first-aid professional. He holds vital positions in BSG and the Indian Red Cross Society, and has driven key initiatives that strengthened scouting in the region.
