Despite being unauthorised, the nightclub remained operational due to a stayed demolition notice. Goa's Chief Minister Pramod Sawant promised action against implicated officials for neglecting safety protocols. The blaze reportedly began on the first floor, growing quickly due to the flammable construction materials.
