Tamil Unity Shines with Record-breaking Thirukkural Recitation Across the U.S.

A historic Thirukkural recitation event was recorded across ten U.S. cities, involving 1,330 participants in a synchronized nationwide effort. Organized by Kural Koodal Semmozhi Foundation, it entered the High Range and Spotlight World Records, marking a milestone in promoting Tamil cultural heritage and intergenerational unity.

A significant chapter in Tamil cultural history unfolded on December 9 as a synchronous Thirukkural recitation across ten U.S. cities entered the High Range World Records and Spotlight World Records. The monumental event saw 1,330 participants uniting to recite the 1,330 couplets of the revered Thirukkural.

The initiative was orchestrated by Semmozhi Mala Gopal, Founder & President of the Kural Koodal Semmozhi Foundation, USA. It took place between April 6 and October 4, 2025, demonstrating cultural dedication, pride, and the intergenerational participation of the global Tamil diaspora, while spreading the Thirukkural's wisdom.

To honor this feat, a felicitation ceremony was held, attended by The Honorable Kevin Cole, Mayor of Pearland, and The Honorable D.C. Manjunath, Consul General of India, Houston. The Foundation, dedicated to promoting Tamil heritage, orchestrated this event, highlighting its commitment to preserving cultural identity.
