Goa police have detained Ajay Gupta, one of the four owners of the 'Birch by Romeo Lane' nightclub, following a disastrous fire that resulted in 25 fatalities. Authorities had previously issued a Look Out Circular for Gupta and his co-owner, Surinder Kumar Khosla.

'We have detained Ajay Gupta, making him the sixth individual held in this tragic case,' revealed a police spokesperson. 'Our team could not locate Gupta during a search of his Delhi home, but he was eventually found and detained in the national capital.'

Post-formalities, Gupta will be brought to Goa for further proceedings. Meanwhile, co-owners Saurabh Luthra and Gaurav Luthra remain at large with a blue corner notice issued against them. Police have arrested five others linked to the nightclub operations.
