The Maharashtra government has greenlit a pivotal infrastructure project involving the construction of a new road and bridge over the Bhima river. This development connects the historical locales of Tulapur, where Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj was martyred, and Vadhu Budruk, his memorial site in Pune district.

The planned bridge is set to decrease the current travel distance from 14 kilometers to 6.5 kilometers. Chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the Development Plan Apex Committee approved the project, which holds significant importance in Maratha history given Sambhaji Maharaj's legacy.

Fadnavis emphasized the need for public consultation before executing the development plans. The project also envisions a museum, administrative facilities, and enhancements like lighting, a viewing gallery, and a guide training program to ensure visitors receive historically accurate information about Sambhaji Maharaj.
