In a disturbing case that has gripped Nagpur, police have arrested two individuals following serious allegations from a 24-year-old married woman. The complainant has accused a former school acquaintance and his associates of rape, blackmail, extortion, and forced religious conversion.
The Sonegaon Police Station registered the complaint, leading to the arrest of Ayyaz Taj Madare and Ameen Shaikh. Authorities are conducting a widespread manhunt for a third suspect, Hazrat Maulana, who remains at large. The woman alleged that the accused reconnected with her under the guise of assisting with a property matter but subsequently drugged her and captured compromising images.
These images were reportedly used to extort nearly Rs 4 lakh from her, and she was coerced into participating in rituals linked to occult practices. Furthermore, she recounted a forced religious conversion and marriage ceremony. Deputy Commissioner of Police Rushikesh Reddy confirmed that charges related to sexual assault, extortion, and Maharashtra's anti-black magic law have been applied. Investigations are ongoing as the hunt for the absconding suspect continues.
