Vice President C P Radhakrishnan praised the steps taken to recognize Tamil kings, leaders, and freedom fighters who previously lacked acknowledgement. His comments were made during an event unveiling a commemorative postage stamp for Emperor Perumbidugu Mutharaiyar II.

Expressing gratitude towards the Narendra Modi government, Radhakrishnan highlighted initiatives such as the Kashi Tamil Sangamam, underscoring the importance of honoring Tamil culture and language. The Vice President pointed out that the newly released stamp is part of broader efforts to pay tribute to historic figures.

He emphasized that acknowledging these unsung heroes is pivotal for reviving cultural pride as India progresses towards 'Viksit Bharat'. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh, and Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting L Murugan also attended, addressing the audience in Tamil.
