The Lord Ayyappa temple at Sabarimala is witnessing a remarkable increase in devotees using traditional forest routes, authorities reported on Sunday.

The Travancore Devaswom Board revealed that 1,02,338 pilgrims have so far made their way to the temple complex through forest paths, with a notable preference for the Azhuthakadavu-Pamba and Sathram routes.

The total pilgrim count has exceeded 24 lakh this season, driven by an average daily footfall of 80,000. The highest recorded single-day arrival was on December 8, with 1,01,844 devotees visiting the sacred site.
