The highly anticipated Students' Biennale, a component of the renowned contemporary art festival, Kochi-Muziris Biennale, made its debut at the VKL Warehouse in Mattancherry, organizers announced on Sunday. This initiative, spearheaded by the Kochi Biennale Foundation, plays a crucial role in nurturing young artistic talents across India.
Emphasizing its educational core, the Students' Biennale is designed to provide emerging artists a platform to exhibit their work, transcending the boundaries of conventional art classrooms. It encourages dialogue within a broader artistic community, opening doors for students from state-funded art schools to showcase their talents.
As part of the sixth edition of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale, 'For the Time Being,' students will have their creations displayed across five distinct venues. Spanning from December 12, 2025, to March 31, 2026, the event features works by 66 artists from over 25 countries, reflecting a diverse range of contemporary art practices.
