The Karnataka government has embarked on an ambitious excavation project in Lakkundi, a historic village known for its architectural heritage, following the surprising discovery of gold ornaments during a construction project.

This initiative, located on the premises of the Kote Veerabhadreshwara Temple, involves multiple government departments and aims to unearth valuable historical artefacts believed to be hidden in the region.
