The Hot Air Balloon Festival took flight on Friday near the historic Golconda Fort, infusing new vigor into Telangana's evolving tourism arena. Held at the Golf Club premises, the event was formally launched by State Tourism and Culture Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, who also experienced a breathtaking balloon ride to commemorate the occasion.
The minister's adventure lasted approximately one-and-a-half hours and covered about 13 kilometers, offering panoramic views from the Golconda Golf Club to Appajiguda's outskirts. He described this aerial journey as a 'truly memorable' experience, signaling the beginning of a new era in the state's tourism efforts.
With dual goals of preserving heritage and embracing innovation, Telangana is poised to become a key contemporary tourism destination. While traditional celebrations like the International Kite and Sweet Festival highlight cultural richness, technology-driven events such as the Hot Air Balloon and Drone Festivals showcase the state's forward-thinking vision, as articulated by Rao during the launch.
