Acclaimed veteran actress Sarada has been named the recipient of the prestigious J C Daniel Award for 2024, in recognition of her lifetime achievements and contributions to Malayalam cinema.
The announcement was made by Kerala's Cultural Affairs Minister Saji Cherian, and the award will be presented by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at the Kerala State Film Awards ceremony on January 25.
This highest honor in Malayalam cinema includes a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh, a citation, and a sculpture. Sarada, known for her extraordinary talent, has acted in around 125 Malayalam films and becomes the 32nd individual to receive this film honor.
