Actress Jennifer Lawrence recently shared insights into her missed opportunity to play Sharon Tate in Quentin Tarantino's 2019 film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Speaking on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Lawrence cited online backlash regarding her appearance as a reason for not getting the part, which went to Margot Robbie.
In a playful exchange with the podcast host, Lawrence remarked on the internet's role in the casting decision and humorously retorted about online personas. The conversation, held in front of a live audience at 92NY, also unveiled Lawrence's decision to turn down a role in Tarantino's The Hateful Eight, which she now regrets.
Debra Tate, sister of the late Sharon Tate, once expressed a preference for Robbie, emphasizing her physical beauty. Director Quentin Tarantino later commented that while Lawrence was considered for the role, he valued her talent and entertained the idea of casting her for a different character. Margot Robbie ultimately filled the shoes of Sharon Tate.
