Oscar-winning actor Jennifer Lawrence recently opened up about the reason behind missing out on a role in Quentin Tarantino's acclaimed film, 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood'. Despite being approached for the part of late actor Sharon Tate, Lawrence faced criticism from internet trolls who claimed she wasn't 'pretty enough' for the role.
The film, released in 2019, showcased a stellar cast, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, and Sydney Sweeney, and was both a commercial and critical success, grossing over USD 377 million globally. Lawrence shared her experience on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, recounting how the role eventually went to 'Barbie' star Margot Robbie.
The film, set in 1969 against the backdrop of the Manson Family murders, follows fading TV actor Rick Dalton (DiCaprio) and his stunt double/best friend, Cliff Booth (Pitt), as they navigate a transforming Hollywood landscape. Sharon Tate, who was murdered in 1969, was at the height of her career with films like 'Valley of the Dolls' and 'The Fearless Vampire Killers'.
