Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has high hopes for 'Dhurandhar 2', a sequel directed by Aditya Dhar, which is set for release in March. Varma predicts it will be the largest multi-starrer in cinema history.
Released in December 2025, the original 'Dhurandhar' film featured a star-studded lineup with Ranveer Singh in the lead role. The film centered around covert intelligence operations against a backdrop of significant geopolitical and terror events, including the Kandahar plane hijack, the 2001 Parliament attack, and the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. It also starred Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, R Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal.
Varma, an admirer of the first installment, took to his X handle to share his thoughts. He stated, 'Dhurandhar 2' will redefine what a multi-starrer can be, with its characters gaining immense popularity and impact, signifying true stardom. The film has a blockbuster legacy to uphold, having grossed over Rs 1300 crore worldwide, and its sequel is set to release on March 19.
