Inside the Emails: Brad Karp's Regretful Ties with Jeffrey Epstein
Paul Weiss Chairman Brad Karp expresses "regret" over his interactions with Jeffrey Epstein, as revealed by emails. Karp, who met Epstein through Apollo Global's Leon Black, attended dinners and exchanged emails with Epstein until 2019. Epstein's past and his ties to Karp are under scrutiny following the release of DOJ documents.
Paul Weiss's Chairman, Brad Karp, expressed regret over his interactions with the disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein. This comes after a haul of emails surfaced, unveiling more extensive communications between the two men than previously known.
The emails, reviewed by Reuters, revealed that Karp attended dinners with Epstein and sought his assistance in securing a role for Karp's son in a Woody Allen film. Furthermore, Karp shared a confidential stock sale document with Epstein. The emails also include discussions of sexual misconduct allegations against well-known men back in late 2017.
The communications spanned several years, extending as late as March 2019. Epstein, later arrested on sex trafficking charges in July 2019, died by suicide in his Manhattan jail cell. Karp's connection with Epstein arose from his professional relationship with Leon Black, co-founder of Apollo Global Management. A Paul Weiss spokesperson clarified that Karp never witnessed or participated in any misconduct.
