Amazon India has taken a significant step toward empowering women entrepreneurs from army families by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Army Women Welfare Association (AWWA). This partnership aims to provide these women with the tools and support necessary to establish sustainable businesses.
The collaboration, part of the Amazon Saheli initiative, was announced at the 'ElevateHER' event in Bengaluru, coinciding with International Women's Day celebrations. It serves as a platform for mentorship and career advancement conversations, highlighting Amazon's commitment to fostering veterans' inclusion.
Deepti Varma, VP of People eXperience and Technology at Amazon India, emphasized the urgent need to unlock the untapped potential of capable women by providing timely opportunities and access. This initiative will enable women entrepreneurs to gain structured onboarding, develop skills, and connect with customers across India.
