Singer-songwriter Badshah has issued an apology following backlash over his latest song, 'Tateeree', which has come under fire for containing lyrics deemed inappropriate toward women and minors. The track has been removed from all streaming platforms.

The 40-year-old artist, renowned for hits like 'Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai' and 'Genda Phool', addressed the controversy in a video on Instagram. In the video, he apologized to those affected, particularly in Haryana, where he roots his identity. He emphasized that his intent was never to offend and that he strives to promote Haryanvi culture.

Badshah clarified that lyrics in the hip-hop genre are often competitive, not targeted at any demographics. A legal complaint was lodged by a Panchkula resident, leading to an FIR and a directive to remove the video's visuals from social media.
