Union Minister Nitin Gadkari paid tribute to Flight Lieutenant Purvesh Duragkar, who tragically died in a Sukhoi fighter jet crash in Assam. The minister visited Duragkar's Nagpur residence to offer his condolences to the bereaved family.
The Indian Air Force had earlier announced the death of Duragkar and Squadron Leader Anuj following the crash of a Su-30 MKI fighter plane in Assam's Karbi Anglong district. The jet disappeared from radar shortly after taking off from Jorhat airbase.
Duragkar was posthumously honored with full military honors at his funeral in Nagpur, attended by family, friends, and dignitaries. He leaves behind his parents and sister.
