Eliud Kipchoge Sets to Conquer Continents Starting in Cape Town

Double Olympic champion Eliud Kipchoge is set to make history by competing in his first marathon on African soil at the Cape Town Marathon on May 24. This event marks the commencement of his ambitious project to run marathons on all seven continents within the next two years.
Kipchoge, 41, brings immense star power to Cape Town, a city keen on gaining Abbott World Marathon Majors status. If successful, by 2026 the Cape Town Marathon could join the ranks of globally renowned races such as the events in London, New York, and Tokyo.
Reflecting on the significance, Kipchoge stated, "Africa is where my journey as a runner began and where the foundation of my success is deeply rooted... To race my first-ever marathon on the African continent holds deep meaning for me."
