Remembering Dandi: Ashok Gehlot's Foot March Tribute

On Thursday, senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot participated in a commemorative foot march in Jaipur, marking the anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi's historic Dandi March. Organized by the Bharat Seva Sansthan, the event traced the route from Shaheed Smarak to Gandhi Vatika.
Participants, including activists and citizens, walked alongside Gehlot, many carrying the tricolour to celebrate India's storied past. A participant even donned the attire of Mahatma Gandhi, evoking the spirit of the original march which was a major element of India's freedom struggle against British rule.
Gehlot emphasized the continued relevance of Gandhian principles, particularly non-violence and truth, in tackling new challenges to democracy. He stressed their importance in fortifying democratic values today as they did during Gandhi's time.
