Eid al-Fitr was celebrated across Kerala on Friday with religious fervor and community gatherings. Known locally as Cheriya Perunnal, special prayers were held in mosques and Eidgahs in major cities like Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, and Malappuram. A large number of faithful from the Muslim community attended the morning prayers, exchanging greetings and celebrating the festival with family and friends.

This significant day marks the end of Ramadan, a month dedicated to fasting and devotion. Political leaders, including Opposition Leader V D Satheesan, highlighted Eid's core messages of sacrifice, love, and gratitude. Satheesan noted that Ramadan is a period of spiritual and physical purification, promoting kindness through acts of charity.

Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan offered their greetings, while BJP state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar called for an inclusive society. Education Minister V Sivankutty emphasized equality and brotherhood. Muslim League president Sayyid Sadik Ali Shihab Thangal underscored the importance of zakat, ensuring prosperity and preventing hunger during this festive occasion.
