RangBaag: Reimagining Parks as Theaters of Creativity

The Delhi Development Authority and National School of Drama jointly launched 'RangBaag', a unique theatre initiative. This project aims to transform parks into creative spaces through structured theatre education, involving children aged 12-16. It promotes self-expression, confidence, and community engagement, concluding with a performance on June 14.

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) and the National School of Drama (NSD) have partnered to introduce 'RangBaag', a pioneering theatre initiative to reconfigure public parks into vibrant hubs of creativity and learning.

Launched as per the directives of Delhi Lt Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu, the programme aims at transforming green areas into active cultural spaces. The initial session kicked off on May 2 at the Maya Art Gallery in Indraprastha Park, with 21 children between 12 and 16 years participating.

Dubbed as a groundbreaking collaboration, the initiative involves a six-week workshop where seasoned theatre educators guide participants through exercises in communication, movement, storytelling, improvisation, and performance techniques. The event underscores nurturing self-expression, confidence, empathy, and community ties among youth, concluding with a final showcase on June 14.
