The movie, a collaboration between Jio Studios and Mumbai Film Company and directed by Deshmukh, portrays Deshmukh in the iconic role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and was released on May 1st in both Marathi and Hindi. It marks the highest opening weekend performance in the Marathi film industry according to the producers.
