Jammu International Film Festival: A Cultural Milestone
The Jammu International Film Festival (JIFF) marks its fifth edition from September 28-29, enhancing Jammu & Kashmir's cultural impact. This event, along with the International Film Festival of Srinagar, highlights regional cinema's growth, nurturing local talent and encouraging storytelling with a new award for Best Local Production.
The Jammu International Film Festival (JIFF) returns for its fifth edition on September 28 and 29, underscoring its role as a significant cultural event in Jammu. Online submissions commenced, reflecting the region's commitment to art and culture.
What started as a small initiative has transformed into an enduring cultural movement, with a combined nine film festival editions achieved along with the Srinagar festival. The festival includes screenings, interactive sessions, and curated cinematic experiences, drawing national and international filmmakers.
Festival director Rakesh Roshan Bhat credited collective efforts and perseverance for the festival's success. A Rs 1 lakh award for Best Local Production will debut, aimed at promoting regional filmmaking and celebrating cinematic excellence, according to festival advisor Amit Wanchoo.
