Governor Calls for Unique Development Approach in Arunachal Pradesh

On Friday, Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen (Retd) K T Parnaik emphasized the need for tailored development strategies for hill states. He argued against applying parameters set for plains uniformly to states like Arunachal Pradesh, due to its challenging terrain, sparse population, and rich cultural heritage.
The governor praised Arunachal Pradesh's potential in sectors such as hydropower, tourism, environmental conservation, and cultural heritage, and pointed to its strategic importance. He called for special focus and priority in national planning efforts to address the state's unique needs.
During a meeting with Dr Joram Aniya, a NITI Aayog member, Parnaik expressed confidence in her contributions to the state's economic development. He stressed the importance of inclusive and people-centric policies that account for Arunachal Pradesh's geographical and demographic challenges.
