The Indian Army showcased exemplary bravery on Friday when they rescued several tourists trapped on the Nathula-Thegu stretch in Sikkim due to a landslide. Officials reported that the landslide had blocked the road, leaving tourists stranded for nearly six hours amidst severe weather and challenging terrain.
Tourists were on their way back from the picturesque Nathu La and the Baba Harbhajan Singh Memorial Temple when they encountered the obstruction. Despite battling sub-zero temperatures, slippery conditions, and continuous adverse weather, Army personnel swiftly began their relief and rescue operations.
The stranded tourists received immediate medical assistance, warm refreshments, food, and logistical support until transportation was possible. The Army's efforts in partially clearing the route facilitated the safe passage of the stranded individuals and vehicles, demonstrating their commitment to public safety.
