In a significant move towards fuel conservation, Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang announced a 50% reduction in his motorcade, following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal for austerity.
The strategy, unveiled on social media, involves multiple measures: cutting fuel use by ministers by 20%, adopting pooled vehicle services, and urging public servants to embrace public transportation. Emergency protocol duties for Tamang’s district tours have also been vetoed.
These decisions, discussed in an emergency session with top state officials, align with a national call to combat potential resource strain from global conflicts, inspiring unity and responsible governance among Sikkim’s people.
