Remembering Sukhdev: The Revolutionary Symbol of Resistance

The 118th birth anniversary of Indian revolutionary Sukhdev Thapar was commemorated in Lahore, Pakistan. The 118th birth anniversary of Sukhdev Thapar, a renowned Indian anti-colonial revolutionary, was celebrated in Lahore, Pakistan, on Friday. The event was orchestrated by the Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation, Pakistan, at the Democratic Lawn of Lahore High Court Bar, paying tribute to the sacrifices of Thapar, commonly known as Sukhdev.

Sukhdev, together with Bhagat Singh and Shivaram Rajguru, was executed on March 23, 1931, in Lahore after being charged with conspiracy against the British regime. Foundation head Imtiaz Rasheed Qureshi emphasized the trio's dedication to awakening the subcontinent against oppression and injustice, portraying Sukhdev as a symbol of resistance and revolutionary ideals.

Advocates present urged today's youth to draw inspiration from these revolutionaries, who transcended religious, caste, language, and ethnic barriers to champion the cause of freedom, equality, and justice for humanity and oppressed people.
