In a recent religious conference, Kashmir's chief cleric, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, called for the revitalization of religious institutions like mosques, shrines, and Imambaras as pivotal centers for social reform.
The cleric highlighted that these institutions should be more than places of worship; they must guide the younger generation to address societal issues like materialism, moral decline, and weakening community bonds, underlining their historical role in societal transformation.
Citing the teachings of Prophet Muhammad as a model, the Mirwaiz stressed that values like justice, compassion, and service to humanity should be woven into individual conduct and community life, urging for a committed revival of these principles to safeguard cultural and spiritual heritage.
