Julia Roberts to star in 'Home Economics'

The Oscar-winning actor will next feature in Panic Carefully.

Hollywood star Julia Roberts is set to feature and produce the film adaptation of Katy Hays' forthcoming novel ''Home Economics''.

Alongside the actor, the Sony's 3000 Pictures film is produced by Lisa Roberts Gillan and Marisa Yeres Gill through their Red Om Films banner alongside Marc Platt, who will produce under Marc Platt Productions, according to the entertainment news outlet Deadline.

The plot details of the film are kept under wraps.

''Home Economics'' sold in a competitive publishing auction, landing at Pamela Dorman Books, an imprint of Penguin Random House's Viking, which will publish it in 2027. Besides, it has also been sold in 11 international territories.

Hays will executive produce the film.

Roberts' latest work is ''After the Hunt'', which released in 2025. The Oscar-winning actor will next feature in ''Panic Carefully''. The film is directed by Sam Esmail and also features Elizabeth Olsen, Eddie Redmayne, Brian Tyree Henry, Joe Alwyn, and Aidan Gillen, among others.
