A technical glitch in the famous Gulmarg Gondola left over 300 tourists stranded mid-air, causing panic and leading to a large-scale rescue operation. The incident occurred around noon, with 65 cable car cabins halting at heights as towering as 500 feet above the ground.

Rescue teams, including the National Disaster Response Force, State Disaster Response Force, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the Indian Army's Chinar Corps, executed a coordinated effort using ropes and ladders to evacuate the tourists. Despite adverse weather, the seven-hour operation concluded without casualties.

Government officials, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, praised the swift response of the disaster response teams. An investigation has been initiated to determine the cause of the malfunction and ensure accountability for any lapses.
