Marico, a prominent Indian FMCG company, has expanded its Parachute Advansed brand into the shampoo market. The move positions Marico against both international and domestic giants, aiming to capture part of the Rs 10,000-crore market growing at 9-10% annually.

In a strategic expansion, Marico has launched its Parachute Advansed brand into the competitive shampoo segment. The company aims to challenge established leaders like Hindustan Unilever and Procter & Gamble by offering a nature-focused product.

Marico's CEO for India Core Business, Ashish Goupal, announced the move as part of a broader strategy to leverage the burgeoning Rs 10,000-crore shampoo market, which is expanding at nearly 10% a year. The company plans to reach Rs 20,000 crore in revenue by 2030, capitalizing on the growing consumer shift towards natural solutions in personal care.

With the Parachute Advansed Protein Shampoo, Marico intends to enhance its presence in the hair-care market, known for established brands like Parachute and Saffola. Goupal noted that the initial market reaction has been promising, and the company remains optimistic about its long-term growth potential in the shampoo sector.
