Five villagers have been rescued after being trapped in a flooded cave in central Laos for over a week. Despite the successful rescue, two individuals remain missing as search efforts continue.

Rescue teams have successfully saved five villagers who were trapped in a flooded cave in Xaisomboun province, Laos, for more than a week. The group, initially consisting of seven individuals, became trapped on May 19 due to flash floods triggered by heavy rains.
Bounkham Luanglath of Rescue Volunteer for People confirmed the successful rescue of five individuals. However, the search for the remaining two continues. The event has been partially documented by a Thai rescue team with video footage showing divers finding the villagers perched on a rock surrounded by water.
