Bena Sareen Triumphs in Oxford Bookstore Book Cover Prize

Bena Sareen has been awarded the prestigious 11th edition of the Oxford Bookstore Book Cover Prize for her creation on the cover of Amitava Kumar's novel, 'My Beloved Life'. Her design was celebrated at a ceremony on Tuesday at the India Habitat Centre, where she received accolades from notable dignitaries, including art historian Alka Pande.

Sareen expressed her gratitude to the Oxford Bookstore and Aleph Book Company, the publisher she has worked with over the years, appreciating the trust placed in her creative vision. This marks her second victory, as she was the inaugural winner of this prize for her work on 'Talking of Justice' by Leila Seth.

Jury chair Alka Pande commended Sareen's consistent artistic excellence, contributing to the recognition of book cover design as a vital art form in the Indian publishing industry. The event also honored designers Shadab Khan and Pinaki De for their outstanding contributions.

Besides the award ceremony, the event featured the unveiling of the longlist for the 4th Oxford Bookstore Art Book Prize and concluded with a book launch by Moroccan Ambassador Mohamed Maliki, providing an engaging discussion with Shashi Tharoor.
