Renowned filmmaker Steven Spielberg has expressed reservations about the use of AI in the creative industry, specifically in filmmaking. He highlights its potential as a helpful tool in production and logistics, but warns against allowing AI to dictate creative decisions.
On Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson’s podcast, Spielberg shared his belief in preserving human creativity, emphasizing that AI lacks the emotional capacity of human creators. While studios are warm to AI for its cost-cutting benefits, Spielberg maintains that it should never replace the human touch in storytelling.
Hollywood, however, is increasingly embracing AI technology. Amazon MGM Studios and Paramount are developing AI-driven content, as the industry looks to leverage its economic benefits, a trend that has prompted criticism from many acclaimed artists.
