Chris Hemsworth to Star in Film About Australia's Famous Desert Race

Chris Hemsworth will star in and produce a new film centered on Australia's iconic Tatts Finke Desert Race. His production company, Wild State, has teamed up with the race's organizers to create multiple projects about the event.

Chris Hemsworth, acclaimed for his role as Thor, is set to headline and produce a film based on Australia's legendary Tatts Finke Desert Race. The film is in early development, with Ricky Staub and Dan Walser working on the script.

Hemsworth's Wild State, a production company he co-founded, has secured an exclusive partnership with the race's organizers. This collaboration aims to produce not only a feature film but also unscripted projects, including an initiative featuring freestyle motocross legend Robbie Maddison's debut in the event.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Hemsworth shared, "Off-road racing has been a passion in my family for a long time, and partnering with the Tatts Finke Desert Race as it approaches its 50th anniversary is thrilling. We look forward to bringing this epic competition to a global audience." Regarded as one of Australia's most challenging off-road races, the Tatts Finke Desert Race will celebrate its 50th anniversary in June.

Hemsworth's Wild State has previously produced titles such as the Disney+ series "Limitless with Chris Hemsworth" and the Netflix 'Extraction' series. The actor is currently filming the third installment of the 'Extraction' franchise and is set to appear in 'Avengers: Doomsday' later this year.
