Pahlaj Nihalani, a veteran film producer and former chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), passed away at the age of 76 on Thursday, June 4. Known for his significant contributions to the Hindi film industry, Nihalani produced several commercial hits throughout his career.

The family confirmed his passing, releasing a statement about the cremation ceremony scheduled for today. It will be held at 3 pm at the Santacruz Hindu Crematorium. The family expressed gratitude for the public's thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Nihalani began his illustrious career in the early 1980s with his debut production, 'Haathkadi'. His filmography includes major successes like 'Shola Aur Shabnam', 'Aankhen', and many others, cementing his status as a formidable force in Bollywood. Beyond production, he served as CBFC chairperson, influencing film censorship and certification processes. He also produced the 2017 film 'Julie 2'.
