K-pop group BTS being referred as 21st Century’s 'The Beatles'

The first ever K-pop group to speak at the United Nations, BTS has become one of the biggest forces to shape Korea's music scene. The group with multiple chart-breaking records and global accolades in their kitty, is now being likened to The Beatles.

In their latest interview, BTS leader RM says sometimes it really feels embarrassing when someone calls them the 21^st century Beatles. "But if they want to call us a boy band, then we are a boy band. If they want to call us a boy group, we are a boy group. If they want to call us K-pop, then we are cool with K-pop!"

Suga said the boy band tries to get 'a little more raw, a little more open', while RM felt that its an endless dilemma for every artist. "With several members we have seven different tastes, of course. So when it comes to song writing, its like a big competition. J-Hope reflects that The Pussycat Dolls' Stickwitu as his first inkling of pop music. RM said Eminem's Lose Yourself as his and Jungkook says Richard Marx's Now and Forever. Suga loves John Lennon's Imagine.

Despite their varying taste in music, BTS is a close-knit group when it comes to their future goals. And it includes staying true to themselves.
