Warner Bros Games Studios Will Not Release Mortal Kombat 11 in Indonesia

The Warner Bros Games Studios will not release the Mortal Kombat 11 video game franchise in Indonesia. This is to ensure that they are compliant with local laws within the country. Warner Bros Games Studios in an official statement said they will be reviewing the same at a later date. It said that those who have pre-ordered the game through the PlayStation Store will receive an 'automatic' refund.

However, sources say PC gamers are still able to purchase Mortal Kombat 11 through Steam as the game is still listed on the digital retailer's catalogue. The Steam store page for Mortal Kombat 11 says the game will be available for purchase on April 24.

Mortal Kombat 11 is the latest instalment in the long-running fighting game franchise originally developed by now-defunct US-based Midway Games in the 1990s and later by NetherRealm Studios. Known for its uncensored depiction of extreme violence, the franchise has been controversial since its early days and was particularly influential in the establishment of the US Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB).
