Senior Congress leader Gurudas Kamat passed away on Wednesday. Kamat breathed his last at Primus Hospital in Chanakyapuri, Delhi.
Kamat was the general secretary of All India Congress Committee and member of the Congress Working Committee. He was MP from North West Mumbai till 2014.
Congress had entrusted Kamat to Gujarat, Rajasthan, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu. But in 2017, Kamat resigned from all the posts. Even after his resignation, the party continued to consider him as a general secretary.
