BJP leader Shazia Ilmi inaugurates water ATMs in NDMC areas

To cut down the use of plastic water bottles, BJP leader Shazia Ilmi on Tuesday inaugurated water ATMs in New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) areas that would dispense safe drinking water 24X7 at an affordable cost.

Under phase-I of the Janajal project, 28 water ATMs were installed out of 75 which were commissioned at Old RK Ashram Marg, RML Hospital, Bhai Veer Singh Marg, Barakhamba Lane and other areas.

Ilmi, who inaugurated the ATM said that water ATMs have emerged as the most versatile solution.

"Every 30 seconds, we lose a life to water-borne diseases. It is commendable that such decentralized water treatment systems provide chilled, safe water 24X7 at an affordable cost" she said.

Parag Agarwal, founder, and CMD of Janajal ATMs said: "We aim to bridge the gap between demand and supply of clean drinking water and make water available, affordable and accessible for the people."
