Woman stabbed to death by husband

A 45-year old woman was stabbed to death allegedly by her husband at New Military Line here Sunday, police said. The deceased was identified as Papina Behera.

Papina's husband Rabindra Behera allegedly stabbed her and escaped from the area with the weapon used to kill her, said inspector in charge of town police station Nihar Ranjan Pradhan.

The incident took place between 1.45 pm to 2.00 pm when there was no one in the house. Preliminary investigation revealed that the murder took place over a family dispute, the inspector said adding that further investigation was on to ascertain the exact cause of the incident.
