China Jan-Aug FDI rises 2.3 pct y/y: commerce ministry

Foreign direct investment (FDI) into China increased 2.3 percent in the first eight months this year to 560.43 billion yuan ($81.84 billion) from a year earlier, China's Ministry of Commerce said on Thursday.

In August alone, FDI into China rose 1.9 percent compared with a year earlier to 63.72 billion yuan, the ministry said in a statement before a scheduled briefing.

China's non-financial outbound direct investment (ODI) in January-August rose 7.8 percent from a year earlier to $74.09 billion.
