With the motto of 'Touch the Sky with Glory,' the Indian Air Force (IAF) is celebrating its 86th founding day. The blue sky of Delhi saw the dancing jets of the glorified IAF which mark their glorified past since inception. The Indian Air Force which has led the front-runner of providing security to the nation has dealt with outnumbered blows in the past during the wartime.

Presently led by Air Chief Marshal B.S. Dhanoa withstanding capacity of 1.39 Lakh IAF stood fourth largest around the world. Not only by its standing capacity but the number of aircraft and attack helicopter gave the edge to the Air Force to deal with the enemy. The well-disciplined and ruthless soldier has made the tricolour fly high to the glory in the sky.

Formed in 8th October 1932 by Britain under the Royal Air Force. The young and charismatic soldiers of Airforce have played a crucial role in the time of the Second World War from 1939-1945. During World War, the Indian pilots resisted the Japanese force in Burma and Thailand and helped allied forces to gain the territory.

After the Independence in 1947, the leaders of young India know the need of strong Air Force to tackle the enemy's intention which harm the sovereignty of India. Jawaharlal Nehru not only boosts the morale of the soldiers but also provided funds for the IAF which at that time was hugely criticized by the global leaders as poverty hit nation was spending billions on defence.

The decision of Nehru was fruitful as neighbouring Pakistan was having an eye to gain control on Indian territories which resulted in the war in 1947, 1965 and 1971. This war showed entire nation that a strong Indian defence can only be created by strong Air Force. So the need for investment in the Air Force has gain significance.

In the time of corruption allegation of 'Rafale' and all other earlier scam, the IAF has always stood high as to touch the sky with glory. The morale presented by our Air Force soldiers have made all Indians feel equally proud to them as Army and Navy. The scandalous character of our political system has not affected Air Force and have remained apolitical since its inception.
